Arabic Calligraphy Course

The Center organizes a course to teach the Principles of Arabic Calligraphy (Nashkh and Ruqʿah) Advanced level. The course will be held from Monday 24 February 2020 to Thursday 26 March 2020 from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Main Building.
 

The center is organizing a course entitled “Aramaic Inscriptions: Reading and Analyzing” from 21st until 25th of July 2019, in Meeting Room “C” at the Conference Center, Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The lecturer is Prof. Solayman Al Zaeeb, Professor of Ancient Arabian Inscription, King Saoud University.


 

 The center is organizing a workshop entitled "Reading Demotic Texts" from 13-14 March 2019. Dr.. Maha Aqil, Assistant Professor of Antiquities and Ancient Egyptian Civilization, Faculty of Arts, Helwan University is the lecturer of the workshop.

  In collaboration with The Nubia Museum, Aswan, the Center is organizing a four-day workshop entitled "Introduction to Meroitic script and texts” from February 3-6, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Nubia Museum, Aswan. The lectures are given by. Dr. Claude Rilly, research fellow at the CNRS and director of the SFDAS. with Dr. Ahmed Mansour, the director of the Center, who will be presenting and commingling on the “Journey of writing in Egypt” documentary, produced by the Library of Alexandria.

 In collaboration with GLYPHS, the Center is organizing a workshop and a scientific symposium titled "Arabic Typography Workshop". A number of specialized professors will give lectures in Arabic and English languages. The workshop will be held from Monday to Thursday, 26 – 29 November 2018, from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., at the conference Centre’s VIP meeting room in Bibliotheca Alexandrina. 

The Center is organizing a Hieroglyhic Course (First Level). The course will start on Sunday, October 14 and ends on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. It will be held weekly Sundays and Tuesdays, from 3 p.m to 5 p.m at Bibliotheca Alexandrina Main Building, 3rd Floating Room.

 The Center is organizing a summer workshop for children and young people starting from 8 to 16 years old on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of July in Room “A”, from 12 noon till 2 pm. Another workshop will be held in the “Arabic Calligraphy Museum” in Moharam Beik, to introduce to the participants the importance of Arabic Scripts. They will be trained to make their Arabic calligraphy panel and decorate it.

 The Center organizes a course entitled “Research Methodology in the Study of Arabic Inscriptions and Scripts”; presented by eminent professors in the field of Arabic Inscriptions and Scripts will give the lectures. 

 The center is organizing a new Arabic Calligraphy course aiming to teach the participants the Beauty of Arabic Calligraphy, its various scripts and its different artistic uses.

The Center organizes a free -educational course entitled “ Introduction in Nabetaean Script”, given by Prof. Dr. Soliman Al-Zeeb; Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, King Saud University.

The Center organizes a course entitled “Research Methodology in the Study of Ancient Egyptian Inscriptions and Scripts”, the lectures will be given by eminent professors in the field of Ancient Egyptian Inscriptions and Scripts. The course will take place at the BA, Main Building – Third Floor Floating Room, for two days; from 9-10 January 2016 at 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In collaboration with IFAO, the Center organizes a one-day seminar “Papyri throughout the Ages: Introduction to Papyrology”. The seminar takes place at the BA Conference Center, Meeting Room E, on Monday 23 February 2015 from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

The Center organizes a program for learning Ancient languages for children and young people during the mid-year vacation.

The Center organizes level two of the Ancient Greek Educational Course.

The Center is organizing –for the tenth year- an ancient Egyptian language course- First level (beginners) for adults. The course aims at encouraging the learning of this language.
