Unity and Diversity in Islamic Art Seminar

The BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies, in cooperation with the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, organizes a seminar entitled “Unity and Diversity in Islamic Art”. This symposium coincides with the celebration of the International Day of Islamic Art corresponding to November 18 of each year, which is the day approved by UNESCO as an international day for introducing Islamic arts. The seminar will be held on Monday, 21 November 2022, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Delegates Hall.

 

The topics of the symposium include the following:

1- Decorative elements in Islamic arts and their development.

2- Inherited and mutual artistic influences in Islamic arts.

3- Women's arts and cosmetic equipment in Islamic arts

4- Masterpieces of Islamic artifacts in museums and private collections

5- Patterns of Islamic arts in the east and west of the Islamic world

The symposium comes within the framework of the interest of the Center for Islamic Civilization Studies affiliated with the Academic Research Sector at Bibliotheca Alexandrina in the heritage of Islamic arts and architecture, as it published several scientific encyclopedias and specialized books in this field.
