The Center for Islamic Civilization Studies, part of the Academic Research Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing a seminar titled “The Architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque across Different Eras” on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Conference Center, Delegations Hall of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The event will host Prof. Saleh Lamei Mustafa, an expert in Islamic Architecture and Restoration, who will present a lecture on “Documentation and Restoration of the Qibla Wall Claddings in the Prophet's Mosque”. Additionally, Prof. Fahd Al-Wahbi, Director of the Medina Research and Studies Center and Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowments Libraries, will discuss “The Prophet's Mosque: History and Architecture (Encyclopedia of the Architecture of the Prophet's Mosque: Presentation and Analysis)”. Furthermore, Prof. Muhammad Hamza Al-Haddad, a specialist in Islamic Antiquities and former Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University, will deliver a lecture titled “A New Analytical Reading of the Historical Sources of the Architecture of the Prophet's Mosque”. The seminar will conclude with a presentation by Prof. Jalal Abada, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at Ain Shams University, who will address “Virtual Heritage between Concept and Reality”, focusing on modeling the architectural history of the Prophet's Mosque.
