Dr. Mostafa el Feki, Director of the BA, stated that the BA has started holding courses on Arab and Islamic Culture at different branches of the Misr Public Library, according to the agreement made with Ambassador Abdel Raouf el-Reedy. The BA started said courses at the Misr Public Library in Minya, and it will then proceed by holding courses at the branches in Damanhur, Port Said, and Ismailia. Said libraries will be provided with BA publications.
The courses are organized as part of the BA’s counter extremism program. Each course includes a number of lectures on various topics, such as the Arabic language; Arabic literature, architecture, and arts; Coptic culture; history; Islamic studies; and philosophy. These courses aim to bridge the gap concerning these topics for younger generations and help them interact with literary, cultural, and intellectual figures. Each course will have 120 participants who are 15–35 years old. At the end of each course, the BA will award participants a collection of books on the topics tackled during the lectures.
