The difficult task of our ancestors is reflected in the mortality figures. Many efforts were made to control the disease, efforts unknown to the present generation. The introduction of effective anti-tuberculosis drugs has changed the R/ and prognosis of this disease radically. Due to HIV (Human Immune deficiency Virus), the emergence of MDR-TB (Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis), and dismantling of TB control programs the declining incidence of TB has been halted or reversed.
