Mapping is also known as cartography. This activity has
been around for centuries, and became very popular in the middle of the last millennium
(!!!) when discoverers needed tools to help them navigate the seas and explore new lands. Public Health adapted the use of maps in studying diseases. Probably the most famous “epidemiological map” was the one John Snow drew to characterize the cholera epidemic. |
