Usually NGU is seen only
in males. It can be caused by a number of organisms, chlamydia trachomatis
being one of them.
Discharge from the urethra is the most common symptom seen in men being examined for STDs. This may be bacterial in origin but may also be chemical. Intrameatal and intraurethral lesions such as warts may also be associated with a discharge. Once Gonorrhea is ruled out, the presence of white cells would lead to a diagnosis of NGU.
