It is 4S study. 4444 patients with known cardiovascular
diseases were randomized either to simvastatin or to placebo. 202 were known with
diabetes. Among non-diabetic subjects it was 25% benefit in the simvastatin treated group. Among the diabetic patients however it was greater benefit of blood pressure lowering such as in simvastatin group 55% lower incidence of events than those randomized for placebo. |
