When quality of care was examined using data from the
3rd National
Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and the Behavioral Risk
Factor Surveillance System, the following was found.
Across the board, none of the parameters reach desired goals.
This lack of quality care is not a result of bad
intent but poor organization.
Thus novel methods of reorganizing the way diabetes care is
delivered are critical.
