There
was an increase of mortality and morbidity from cancer in Armenia. This group of diseases
occupies the second position in death-rates. The increase of mortality is more typical for
breast cancer. Many studies have illuminated the role of hormonal dysfunction, stress and
lifestyle on the increasing level of mortality and morbidity of breast cancer. By
C.Cabrera and others(2) breast cancer morbidity increased as socioeconomic status
increased in a strong dose-response manner. In this part of investigation I tried to
illuminate the role of different factors for discovering the causes of the increasing
level of breast cancer in Armenia during the last 10 years. The information is gathered
from official statistics and medical data of 300 woman, who had breast cancer and sought
care in Cancer Institute of RA. This data included menstrual and reproductive history,
family history of cancer, alcohol consumption, smoking habits and lifestyle. |
