Nutrition and
drinking habits were assessed by using a semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire.
The exposure to arsenic was calculated by weighting the frequency categories of food
intake as follows times/week weight < 1 0 1 1 1-3 2 4-7 3 For each food item, the content of arsenic per kg was taken from the final report of the EC-funded project PHARE, together with the average annual consumption (kg).
