Reading of the inscriptions of Coptic Icons in Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The Calligraphy and Writing Center held a lecture about “The Historical Importance of the Inscriptions of Coptic Icons”, given by Dr. Youhnna Nesim; the researcher in the Archaeological and Classical Studies section, Melbourne university. Ahmed Mansour -the Deputy Director of Calligraphy Center- indicates that the most beautiful Coptic arts throughout the centuries were the Coptic Icons, for its simplicity, symbolism and preaching.
This is from the artificial side, regarding its historical value, the Icons contain many historical and archaeological significance, for this is the importance of the lecture. Mansour added that the lecture will start on Thursday 2/6/2011 at 12 PM in the Auditorium- Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
