This course aims at introducing the different types of Arabic calligraphy scripts and their different artistic uses. It also aims to teach the principles of Arabic calligraphy, focusing on the Nashkh and Ruqʿah scripts. It will also focus on the proper use of the pen as to show the beauty and clarity of the scripts. The lecturer of the course is Mr. Mohamed El Maghraby, Professor of Arabic Calligraphy and former Director of the Mohamed Ibrahim School of Arabic Calligraphy in Alexandria.
