This lecture presents a perspective of addiction and substance use
that adopts a multifactorial model, and challenges the over-simplistic “addiction”
model, from a constructionist perspective. The content of this lecture disagrees considerably with prevailing opinion on the biological nature of drug use and instead focuses on the psychological, social, political and economic influences that are important in substance use. Read on at your peril! |
