A common idea in Perú, Colombia and Brazil was that this instability was
due to the reduced vector capacity of the local anopheline species, an
inability to sustain the infection.
It was even suggested that our Peruvian mosquitoes could be imported by Brazil to contribute to control the endemic, stable P. falciparum malaria in several areas, such as the State of Amazonia. |
