Why are equines so
very sensitive ? The empirical events—epidemics—are vivid. But many have been most poorly recorded, mainly by lack of reagents like antisera. In short, the needed information is not obtained, because its search is not financed. What about Japanese encephalitis virus, yellow fever virus and others? Could they become new or emerging? Is WNV still new? It seems best to study all the mosquito-borne viruses mentioned in this lecture as a group and to investigate their various epidemics with due care and a fresh look. Some countries like Thailand have better knowledge of such viruses than we do. |
