We wanted to get a lot of data so that we could start teasing
apart the different effects of fetal alcohol. Half of the women were black and half were
white, that's just the way it worked out. The age was 22 on average, about 30% were
married, and about 40% had completed high school. They were healthy women. There were high
levels of depression in this population, which is common in this type of population. There
were high levels of anxiety, as well as high levels of hostility and low self-esteem. |
