from the Connecticut SEER registry indicate that 13% of the 8.9 million
estimated survivors had been diagnosed 20 y previously (3). Given the mean
age at diagnosis and length of time projected for survival, it is reasonable
to assume that chronic comorbid conditions and diseases will be an issue for most cancer patients, either at diagnosis or later during the survivorship years. |
