In México in the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias in 1997-2002, 845 patients were diagnosed with lung cancer 58 1/ 68.3 % had small-cell carcinoma, 2/ 20.7 % had squamous cell carcinoma and 3/ 11 % had various other histopathologies. Adenocarcinoma is the histopathologic subtype most frequent in young men and has a smaller proportion of smokers.
