So the prostacyclin thromboxane imbalance theory lead to the treatment with very low doses of aspirin because when it's given in low doses it preferentially inhibits thromboxane synthesis because aspirin is an irreversible inhibitor of the enzymes that makes all of prostoglandin, cyclo-oxgenase, and platelets don't have any machinery in them to make thromboxane.
