Now the slippage can occur either backwards which is called retrolisthesis or anteriorly forward which is called anterolisthesis. It is interesting that in the literature what you will find is that everybody says that retrolisthesis is totally asymptomatic. Forward slippage is believed to both narrowing in the vertebral canal and may lead to chronic back pain. |
