Abstract:
ICCO is worried about the consequences of the current negations on the new Economic Partnership Agreements between the EU and the ACP countries. ICCO argues that trade rules and regulation should be flexible to allow developing countries to protect their agricultural markets and enable farmers adequate income. Contrary to expectations, the past 25 years of liberalization and deregulation have not led to much economic development.
