Abstract:
In 2007, 32 project team members representing almost all ICT projects in the Network TIC Bolivia participated in an evaluation of the impact of ICT on development from 2003 to 2007. Regarding the support offered by IICD, the following were the most important observations: (1) an average of 78% of the project team members were satisfied with the expert advice offered by IICD during the last 6 years; (2) in 2007 satisfaction levels dropped to 64% as a result of the fact that in 2007 IICD reduced its expert advice to the projects; (3) IICD support remains a crucial element, very important to keep on moving forward; (4) problems of continuity, connectivity and access are still to be worked out; (5) institutionalization of projects is on the right track, but this has still to be improved; and (6) Network TIC Bolivia enables the exchange of experiences among the different institutions working with ICTs for Development in Bolivia. The 17 IICD-supported ICT projects in Network TIC Bolivia work in the fields of governance, health, and education.
