Abstract:
Providing care for separated children is a challenge in all contexts. Nowhere is this more apparent than in developing countries emerging from a legacy of conflict. In such environments legal and social structures are not effective. Separated children often must fend for themselves or be placed in large orphanages. This paper describes experience with community-based alternatives for separated children
in Cambodia, a country in such a situation.
