Abstract:
Girls and women are a critical part of the vulnerable people, given their relative powerlessness and disproportionate susceptibility to HIV infection. This article discusses a programme implemented by the health organization PSI/Uganda at universities and secondary schools to address and better understand the dynamics of cross generational sex (CGS) and contribute to the empowerment of young women in Uganda. Among the programme’s components is the establishment of peer and social support groups for young women dubbed the “Go-Getters”.
