Abstract:
This report discusses a study on the arrangements of learning environments in Ethiopian primary and secondary education (grade 5-10). An interview study was conducted at three schools of a non-governmental organization (NGO) in different parts of Ethiopia. The Ethiopian educational policy stimulates a so-called student-centred approach in education which strives after new learning goals and interactive strategies. This approach is also stressed by the NGO involved in this study. The practical knowledge of teachers, in particular with regard to a student-centred approach, is explored.
