Abstract: A 21-week pilot study was run in 2009-2010 in 129 health facilities in three districts of rural Tanzania. Mobile phones, SMS and electronic mapping technology were used to facilitate provision of comprehensive and accurate weekly stock counts from health facilities to district management teams.
