Abstract:
Birth preparedness and complication readiness is a safe motherhood strategy aimed at increasing skilled birth attendant utilization and ultimately reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Nigeria currently has a high maternal mortality rate of 917 maternal deaths per 100 000 live births contributing to about 20% of maternal deaths around the world.
