Abstract:
In low-and middle-income countries (LMICs) including Nigeria, healthcare costs often plunge millions into severe poverty due too out-of-pocket (OOP) expenses. Despite reforms such as the PHCDF and BHCPF, Nigeria’s healthcare financing system (HFS) still heavily relies on OOP spending indicating the need to critically assess its capacity for providing financial protection (FP).
