Abstract:
This paper discusses Civil-Military Co-operation (CIMIC) and Civil Military Interaction. The paper is based on a literature study and interviews with different military and humanitarian stakeholders in The Netherlands from April to June 2004. An overview is provided of concepts, interpretations and the various positions taken by humanitarian aid and military organizations. The findings of a workshop on ‘CIMIC and Civil Military Relations’, organised by PSO3 for its member organisations end of June 2004 are also taken into account.
