Abstract:
Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a parasitic disease transmitted by sandflies, and is usually fatal if untreated. South Sudan has the worlds’ second highest disease burden of VL. A significant proportion of cases in South Sudan is reported from Lankien, Jonglei state. There is limited evidence available about clinical aspects and treatment outcomes of VL in pregnancy.
