Abstract:
Increasing rates of carbapenem resistance (CR) are reported in Africa, driven primarily by misuse and overuse of antibiotics for humans and animals. Still, the extent of occurrence of CR and drivers of antibiotics misuse/overuse in Nigeria are not comprehensively understood due to lack of effective CR and antimicrobial use surveillance systems. This scoping review was conducted to describe the prevalence of CR as well as determinants of antibiotics misuse/overuse in Nigeria using One Health Approach.
