Abstract:
Many interventions related to community people, structure, health workforce, service organization and governance were identified. Social audits, community participation, HFOMC strengthening, and patient involvement were making care more people centered. Interventionssuch as citizen charter and complaint mechanism were found ineffective. Onsite coaching, academic detailing and retention program were improving clinical quality and motivation. Infrastructure and service expansion were not found effective. Evidence on many governance interventions such as policies were very limited. Studies testing impact of many quality interventions on health outcomes and cost were limited.
