Abstract:
Refugees are usually exposed to several stressful factors before, during, and after migration and this can lead to mental disorders such as PTSD, depression and anxiety. Several research studies point to the high impact of post migration factors on mental health problems among refugees. Therefore, there is a need to analyze the post migration factors affecting the mental health of refugees and asylum seekers in Western Europe more in depth. As such, the findings can be used by policy makers and mental health practitioners in Western Europe settings to improve specific interventions for refugees and asylum seekers geared toward supporting their mental health.
