When we’re talking about
primary prevention, we’re basically talking about preventing the actual acquisition of
STDs, and so this is one of my favorite slides: “A condom a day keeps the doctor
away.” This is what you say if you do this kind of work. The secondary prevention
has a lot to do with screening and preventing PID from occurring; once an individual is
infected with a STD, preventing that STD from becoming this morbid condition. Tertiary
prevention has to do with once a woman has PID, preventing infertility, chronic pelvic
pain, pregnancy complications for that woman. |
