Knowledge-Triangle Platform for the Water-Energy-Food Nexus (TriNex) Project.
It was an EU TEMPUS three years Project aimed to create a national platform based on universities joining forces in research, innovation and education activities for Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus.
This platform aimed to serve as meeting point for researchers from Egypt and Europe in many different disciplines who come together to enable Egypt to achieve water, energy and food security.
Project partners: 4 European Universities, 3 Egyptian Universities, American University and the BA/CSSP (Politecnico di Milano University, Italy, RWTH Aachen University, Germany, Montpellier SupAgro institute, France, Alexandria University, Egypt, Cairo University, Egypt, Heliopolis University, Egypt, The American University in Cairo, Graz University of Technology, Austria and Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt)
Project Main Objectives:
- Improve the role of universities in the Egyptian society by developing a national strategy and platform to improve the synergy between Research, Education and Innovation (Knowledge-Triangle) in WEF Nexus.
- Strengthen the knowledge-triangle activities dealing with WEF Nexus across the university and beyond through establishing 5 coordination bodies inside involved universities in the project.
- Creating a qualified generation of WEF junior researchers and enable them to cooperate across their universities through WEF training programs.
- Develop an online knowledge-sharing system to facilitate the cooperation among the European and Egyptian Universities.
CSSP Role in the Project: Quality Control
The work of the QC is primary concerned with ensuring project progress and that every task and activity within the project is carried out at high level of professionalism and in line with the project objectives.
