Roman Pryjomko

Biography:

  • For the last twenty years, Roman Pryjomko has worked as a technical advisor on development challenges in over 40 countries. His work for the UN, donor agencies, governments and the private sector has focused on poverty alleviation, environmental management, governance reform and violence prevention.
  • As a committed geographer, he has a special interest in the use of spatial techniques and technologies to better understand and visualize key aspects of the sustainable development challenge.
  • Recently, Roman became an Associate of the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) Partnering Initiative www.thepartnershipinitiative.org, which promotes the art and science of multi-sector partnerships for sustainable development.
  • He is actively involved in the establishment of Partnership Resource Centres worldwide to promote essential partnering skills and tools at the local level.
  • Roman is a published author and in 2003, co-founded a home and school for disadvantaged and traumatized children in Arusha, Tanzania.
  • In 2008, St Gabriel Home in Arusha was honoured to receive the UNHCR-sponsored Sergio Vieira de Mello Humanitarian Award.
