Dr. Reyad Sawafta is the president and chief executive officer of QuarTek Corporation, a privately-held nanotechnology company that he founded in 2004. In his role, he oversees a myriad of business functions, keeps abreast on new developments in science and technology, devotes attention to the complexities associated with research and development, and continues to apply his innate drive and ambition to foster a bright and prosperous future for QuarTek Corporation. Prior to founding QuarTek Corporation, he held various positions of increasing responsibility in academia and private industry. Dr. Sawafta has served on numerous national and international advisory committees and boards, and has received many prestigious awards. His expertise includes nuclear physics, high speed technology, magnetic applications and designs, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. Dr. Sawafta obtained his Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from the University of Alberta, Canada in 1986. Dr. Sawafta is an inventor on numerous patents and patent applications; he has also authored more than 150 scientific papers and has presented more than 100 invited talks worldwide.
