Mona Bakr

Biography:

Mona Bakr Mohamed gained her BSc 1991; and her MSc, in Chemistry, in 1994. She received her PhD, in 2002, from Georgia Tech, Atlanta, USA, under supervision of Mostafa El-Sayed, then moved to Swizerland where she worked as Senior Research Scientist in EPFL, Lausanne. Mona Bakr Mohamed is currently Assistant Professor at National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science, Cairo University and Material science devision at E-JUST. Her research interest focuses on synthesis and characterization of metallic, magnetic and semiconductor nanocrystals of different shapes and sizes, as well as their optical properties and ultrafast dynamics applying different laser techniques. Her research group (40 graduate students) are working on constructing novel nanomaterials for solar cell applications, photoelectronic devices, biomedical imaging, cancer therapy, nanocatalysis, water purification and desalination. Dr. Mona has more than 50 international publications in world wide regonized scientific jounrnals. She is the COE of NanoTech Egypt for photoelectronics which is the first R&D company in Egypt working in Fabrication and Markting Nanometerials, and devoplement of new materials to enhance the Local Industries.

Abstract:
