Dr. Mohamed EL-HADIDY
Biography:
Dr. Mohamed EL-HADIDY received his PhD of Microbiology from Virginia Maryland regional college of veterinary medicine, Virginia Tech University, USA and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Mansoura University, Mansoura, Egypt (Joint supervision PhD program) on ?Bacteriological, Immunological and molecular biological studies on Histophilus somni in cattle?.
He was appointed as assistant professor of Microbiology from 2010 to 2015 and then as an associate professor of Microbiology from 2015- present. From September 2013 to September 2014, was research scientist at University of Ghent, Belgium.
His research interests are focusing on bacterial pathogens and other zoonotic infectious diseases that affect animal health, food safety and public health, and environmental health. Dr. El-Hadidiy supervised and assisted many graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects. In addition, he collaborated, participated, and was involved in writing research proposals to seek funding from both internal and external grant sources for his university.
From December 2015- June 2017 Dr. El-Hadidiy Conducted multidisciplinary research projects on Campylobacter Jejuni in broad range of scientific disciplines including its epidemiology in poultry, human and food chain, antimicrobial resistance mechanisms and development, molecular biology and pathogenesis, genomics and evolution at Belgian Scientific Institute of Public health (WIV-ISP), Brussels, Belgium.
Dr. El-Hadidiy received many national and international Honors and Awards such as:
Global Young academy membership (2018-2023) for scientists with distinguished qualifications, outstanding track record and commitment to service to society
African Science Leadership fellow (University of Pretoria, South Africa, 2018 fellow)
Daniel Turnberg Travel Fellowships, British Academy of Medical Sciences 2017
International Committee on Food Microbiology and Hygiene (ICFMH) award for the outstanding contribution by young investigator
Belgian federal science policy office (BELSPO) fellowship for highly qualified non-EU researchers (2016-2017).
Abstract:
