Biography:
Eng. Youssef Eldakar is the Director of the International School of
Information Science Department at the BA. He joined the BA as a software
engineer in 2002, working with Brewster Kahle, Internet Archive Founder, to
set up the BA's first web archiving computer cluster and continued to lead the
BA?s effort in web archiving in the years that followed. In 2013, Eldakar also
became involved with BA's supercomputing service. Today, Eldakar's primary
focus as the department Director is providing support to science through the
technologies of parallel computing, big data, natural language processing,
and visualization.
In 2000, Eldakar was with Audium, a voice application developer in
New York City. Eldakar started his career in technology at Baron Software out
on Long Island, New York, in 1998.
He earned his Bachelor?s Degree in Computing in 2001 at the New York
Institute of Technology.
Eldakar was profiled in Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering
since its 2008 edition.
