Biography:
Dr. Rujhan Mustafa is currently a Senior Director at the Ministry of
Economic Affairs (MEA), Malaysia. His responsibility is to formulate
policies for social services and to bring reform to national economic
policies to assist Malaysia in reaching a developed nation status. He is also
responsible for ensuring all government allocations are distributed based
on merit of the people throughout all ministries and agencies, to enhance
the quality of life and well-being of the people. Prior to his appointment
at MEA, he was the Director General of Higher Education; a CEO of
PADU, a unit overseeing the momentous Malaysian Education Blueprint
2013?2025; CEO of Malaysian Qualifications Agency, the official agency
responsible for accrediting all tertiary education programmes in Malaysia;
and CEO of EMGS, a company to promote Malaysia as a hub of education.
Internationally, he was one of the subject matter experts from Asia Pacific
appointed by UNESCO to be a member of the Drafting Committee on
the Global Convention on the Recognition of Higher Qualification. He
obtained his PhD in International Economics from Ritsumeikan University,
Kyoto, Japan in 1996.
