Biography:
Mohamed Yasser Khalil is Director of the Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East in Jordan; and Professor at the Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Department, Alexandria University. He was Director of the Faculty and Leadership Development Center- Alexandria University from 2006-2008; Head, Nuclear Engineering Dept., Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt from 1997-2003 and from 2006-2008. He was also Executive Member of the office of the Alexandria University development, projects management unit from 2004-2008. Khalil was a Visiting Scientist, Chemical Research Institute, Juelich Nuclear Research Center (KFA) from 1990-1992 and Visiting Scholar, Nuclear Engineering Sept., University of California-Berkeley from 1989-1990. He is also Member of the Technical Working Group on Research Reactors (TWGRR), IAEA, Vienna, Austria since 2008 and Member of the AFRA High Level Steering Committee (HLSC) on Human Resource Development (HRD) and Nuclear Knowledge Management (NKM), IAEA, Vienna, Austria since 2008. Khalil obtained his BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering from Alexandria University in 1976 and his MS and PhD in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1984.
