Abstract:

Session Title: Innovations in Natural Resources Management for Sustainable Future

Presentation Title:  Research Vs. Water Challenges in Egypt

ABSTRACT

Egypt, a land historically blessed by the Nile River, now faces a water deficit problem. The country's population growth, coupled with climate change and regional conflicts, has led to a decline in per capita water availability. This scarcity threatens the nation's agriculture, industry, and overall well-being. Meanwhile, Research and innovation can play a crucial role to close the gap between supply and needs. In this talk, we are going to review the water challenges facing Egypt and the possible topics that researchers can address for a sustainable future.

This presentation is based on the National Water Research RoadMap conducted by the Center of Excellence for Water / Center of Excellence for Agriculture and Water.
