Biography:

Dr. Carvalho graduated from the university with a degree in biology from the State University of So Paulo at Campinas, Brazil, and in 2003 finished his PhD in immunology at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia, Portugal. From 2003-2006 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Microbiology, University of Alabama at Birmingham. From 2007-2009 he worked as the Deputy Curator of the Gulbenkian Foundations Darwins Evolution exhibition in Lisbon. He is currently responsible for graduate education at the Instituto Gulbenkia de Ciencia.
