Biography:
Having originally studied Environmental Sciences, Fern Elsdon-Baker has recently completed her doctoral studies focusing on the history and philosophy of evolutionary theories. Her main area of research is the history of theories of heredity from the 1860s to the present. She is currently a member of the British Society for the History of Science Programme Committee. She is due to become a member of BSHS Council in June 2007 and Recorder for the History of Science section of the British Association for the Advancement of Science in September 2007..
