The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), through the Regional Office for West Asia (ROWA), in cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) organized the Transition to Sustainability Debate: Mainstreaming Environment in Corporate Social Responsibility held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on 4 June 2009.
This co-organized Forum aimed at mainstreaming environment in the private sector from Oil and Gas, Financial Markets, Construction, Telecom and Energy companies to share their best practice on Environmental and Social responsibility in a participatory manner.
A total number of 27 participants attended the forum and they included CEOs, professionals in sustainability issues, CSR managers from governments, the private sector, NGOs, and local communities, in addition to academics and media from the region.
