The members of the National Supreme Council on Science and Technology Research have been asked by the Prime Minister, to help in studying and advising on setting up a "National Committee for Bioethics" that would provide advice and counsel on bioethics and related matters to the PM.

Similarly, they were asked to study and advise on the design of a National Food Security Strategy for Egypt that would help guide Agricultural research and agricultural and trade policy in Egypt in years to come.
