The 3rd Mediterranean Scientific Conference GID-Parmenides
The 3rd Scientific Conference of the Mediterranean GID-Parmenides :

As a continuation of the Scientific Conference of the Mediterranean GID-Parmenides initiative and as a part of the French-Egyptian Science Year activities, we were proud to announce the 3rd Scientific Conference of the Mediterranean GID-Parmenides: "Richness and Mediterranean Diversity, Biology and Culture" that took place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt, from 22 to 24 June 2010, after the 1st Scientific Conference of the Mediterranean that was held in Paris, France in June 2008 and the 2nd Scientific Conference of the Mediterranean held in Rome, Italy in October 2009. The 3rd Scientific Conference of the Mediterranean was held under the auspices of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the GID (Inter-academic Group for Development), the Institute of France, the FMSH (Fondation Maison des Sciences de l?Homme) and the Prince Albert 1er Foundation.
Three themes were addressed during the Conference representing biological and societal biodiversity which include :
  1. Trees or woodlands, particularly in relation to desertification
  2. Fish as an indicator and marker of biodiversity
  3. The book; which means writing, translation, editing etc.


EMAN: Euro Mediterranean Academic Network

The conference was preceded by EMAN: Euro Mediterranean Academic Network, the first formal assembly of the EMAN, it was held on 21 June 2010 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina with the participation of 17 international academies.

The conference attendance will be by invitation only.
