With the participation of 74 philosophers, sociologists, anthropologists, political scientists, economists, demographers, historians and geographers and upon the UNESCO's initiative to promote world-wide international cooperation across the whole range of social and human sciences disciplines and paradigms, the event took place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The International Social Science Council (ISSC) and the International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies (CIPSH) have been established respectively in 1952 and 1949 working together aiming to connect and mobilize the scholar communities and provide expertise to various UNESCO's programmes, in the fields of social sciences, philosophy, cultural diversity and heritage, higher education and knowledge society.
